What is UNEB (Uganda National Examinations Board)?

Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB)  is the National examination assessment body that is charged with the role of assessing students.

UNEB issues exams to students at the end of a particular education levels cycle such as the end of the Primary or Secondary level. It later releases the UNEB/UACE/UCE/PLE examination results after marking

The Uganda National Examinations Board was established in 1983 by the UNEB Act 1983 which was revised and now is the UNEB Act 2021 UNEB is headed by Executive Secretary Dan N Odongo

The Uganda National Examinations Board and the Ministry of Education and Sports release the results annually providing assessment and insights into how students perform.

When is UNEB going to release the PLE Results 2023?

UNEB's Daniel Odongo stated earlier this week that the PLE Results for the year 2022 are going to be released next week which starts on 13th January 2023. So the Primary Seven pupils will be able to receive their PLE results by the end of the week. The PLE results will be out which you can check for online or by SMS.

UNEB has to meet up with the Minister for Education and Sports Janet Kataha Museveni next week to discuss the outcomes of the PLE Results 2022 before they are released to the public.

Students, parents, schools, and stakeholders can check for the results of the respective students as soon as the results are released.

When is UNEB going to release the UACE Results 2023? 

UACE results release date has not been confirmed yet but Daniel Odongo has at least confirmed that the marking of the UACE exams is ongoing and will be released as soon as they are ready. Mr Odongo was quoted saying, "The marking of the UACE esaminations has just commenced with the arrival of examiners at various marking centres." 

So the senior six Students will be able to receive the results of the exams they sat for in 2020.

Students, parents, schools, and stakeholders can check for the results of the respective students as soon as the results are released.

You can easily check for the results of any candidate either by use of the SMS (Short Message Service)  Supported by all Telecom Companies or online via the internet using the UNEB Portal as discussed below.

You can check for candidate results directly with the respective school for details of your UNEB examination results for further details.

If you cannot easily access the school then the methods on how to check for UACE/ UCE/PLE easily discussed below will be of help

How to Check for PLE Examination Results online 2023?

This method involves checking for results using the internet. You can easily check for the results of any student as long as you know the Index Number and have an internet connection.

Note: This method is free and does not require you any payment to access the results but only an internet connection to access the online portal.

To access your UNEB Examination Results for the year 2023 UACE online 

Follow these steps:

• Head to your phone browser/Google.

• Type the following address https://ereg.uneb.ac.ug/results in your web browser to access the online UNEB portal.

• Insert the Index number i.e UO88/1234 and hit search to check for the results.

This is the final step and your results will be displayed in detail.

Note: To use the online portal be fast because it is usually blocked by UNEB shortly after the release of the results to telecom companies.

There is an alternative method if at the online portal gets blocked before you access the results or if you prefer to use SMS.

How to check for PLE Examination Results using SMS 2022/2023?

To check for P7 UNEB PLE (Primary Leaving Examination) Results

• Head to messages on your phone.

•  Type PLE<leave a space>Index Number for example PLE 00003/123.

• Send the message to 6600.

The results will be sent directly to your phone instantly through a Text message/ SMS.

Note: One SMS costs 500/= so you must possess 500/= worth of air time credit To use the SMS method.

It is supported by all Telecom companies such as Airtel Uganda, MTN Uganda, and many more.

How to Check for UACE Examination Results online 2023?

This method involves checking for results using the internet. You can easily check for the results of any student as long as you know the Index Number and have an internet connection.

Note: This method is free and does not require you any payment to access the results but only an internet connection to access the online portal.

To access your UNEB Examination Results for the year 2022/2023 UACE online 

Follow these steps:

• Head to your phone browser/Google.

• Type the following address https://ereg.uneb.ac.ug/results in your web browser to access the online UNEB portal.

• Insert the Index number i.e UO88/1234 and hit search to check for the results.

This is the final step and your results will be displayed in detail.

Note: To use the online portal be fast because it is usually blocked by UNEB shortly after the release of the results to telecom companies.

There is an alternative method if at the online portal gets blocked before you access the results or if you prefer to use SMS.

How to check for UACE Examination Results using SMS/Text 2023?

You can alternatively check for your UACE results using your phone via SMS (Short Message Service) /Text message.

This method involves sending a Text / SMS  to 6600

Ensure that you have loaded airtime worth 500/= before using this method because One SMS will cost 500/=

Simply follow these steps;

• Head to your phone to messages

• Type UACE<leave a space> Index number for example UACE U088/1234.

• Send the text to 6600

The results will be sent directly to your phone instantly through a Text message/ SMS on your phone with the respective subjects and marks and the points scored.

Note: This method requires you to have a fee of 500/= as airtime credit on your phone for the service to go through.

It is supported by all Mobile Network Telecom Companies such as Airtel, MTN, among others through SMS which is discussed below shortly.
